HOW DOES IT WORK?
The ribbon Printer works by applying heat to a colored transfer film. the ink in the transfer film melts and sticks onto the ribbon. Thermal transfer films are also known as foils. Skat Katz thermal transfer films come in 74 metre lengths, unless otherwise stated.
The Klic N Print can print ribbons from 7 mm to 100 mm in width. Widths less than 25mm require a special adaptor. An added advantage of the Klic N print, is the ability to print on to vinyl. giving you the ability to print safety tags and bumper stickers.
CAN I USE ANY RIBBON?
You will get best results from printing on ribbons with a very smooth surface. We recommend polyester satin ribbons as we have found that these give the best results. We have had success with "tear ribbon". This is a polypropelene based satin ribbon with a smooth surface. We shall also be stocking a range of competetively priced ribbons on our online store.
WHAT ARE THE RUNNING COSTS?
This will depend on the transfer film you use. Below I have quoted the thermal transfer costs. It does not include ribbon costs. Please note that we are currently working on an adapter that allows you to print 2 or three ribbons at a time, thus further decreasing your running costs.
